The Redsox and manager John Farrell have agreed to a contract extension Ben Cherrington said in a press conference this morning in Fort Myers for Spring Training.
Farrell's new contract will last through the 2017 season with 2018 as an option. John Farrell was the pitching coach under former manager Terry Francona then went to the Blue Jays before being traded to the Redsox in 2013.
Farrell led the Redsox from worst to first in 2013 and won the World Series last year was a struggle as they went back to finish last in the AL East. In four seasons with the Blue Jays and with the Redsox his combined record is 322-326.
