The Texas Rangers having a quiet offseason so far have traded three minor leaguers to the Milwaukee Brewers for right - handed starter Yovani Gallardo today according to ESPNDALLAS.COM.
Gallardo 28 years old of From Fort Worth Texas, went 8-11 with a 3.51 ERA for the Brewers last season. He has made 30 starts in the past six seasons, and pitching more than 180 innings in six of the eight big league seasons.
According to ESPNDALLAS the Rangers were looking to add depth to the middle of their rotation. With already having the number one starter Yu Darvish and the number two starter Derek Holland, having Gallardo has the three starter who is a veteran pitcher who is a good fit in the middle of the rotation.
Gallardo will make $13 million in his final year of his contract and could sign with the Rangers if he has a successful season in 2015. The Brewers will pick up $4 million of his salary.
